-Early morning 3:30 am convoy to Abu Simbel. My driver and guide will pick you up at your cruise ship or hotel. 280 km south of Aswan, Abu Simbel is the site of two temples built by the Egyptian king Ramses II in southern Egypt. In ancient times the area was at the southern frontier of pharaonic Egypt, facing Nubia. The four colossal statues of Ramses in front of the main temple are spectacular examples of ancient Egyptian art. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to cooperate in order to save these temples from the flood when the High Dam was built.
Around noon return to Aswan.
